Terms of Service
Last updated: August 8, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the PassVault extension or mobile application, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service.
2. Description of Service
PassVault is a local-first, zero-knowledge password manager. It encrypts your data locally on your device and utilizes your personal Google Drive account for synchronization across your devices.
3. User Responsibilities
- Master Password: You are solely responsible for remembering your Master Password. Because of our zero-knowledge architecture, PassVault cannot reset or recover your Master Password. If you lose it, your data cannot be decrypted.
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and your Google Account, which acts as the storage backend for your encrypted vault.
- Lawful Use: You agree not to use PassVault for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
4. Limitation of Liability
PassVault is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PassVault and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of access to accounts, or other intangible losses resulting from your use or inability to use the service.
5. Termination
You may stop using PassVault at any time by uninstalling the application and deleting your vault file from your Google Drive. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice.
6. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
